MEET DANIELA BECKETT
A Neighbor. A Mom. A New American. A Voice for Westerville.
I’m Daniela Beckett—and I’m running for Westerville City Council because I believe our city’s best days are still ahead.
Ten years ago, I came to the U.S. from Colombia to study in California. I never imagined that journey would lead me to Ohio—but life had other plans. I met my husband, and we decided to return to his hometown of Columbus. About four years ago, we made Westerville our home—and it’s been the best decision for our family.
Today, I’m a wife, a mom of two young kids, and the Director of Operations for a small business. Every day, I manage people, solve problems, balance budgets, and lead—and I want to bring that same hands-on, no-nonsense leadership to City Council.
I’m not a politician. I’ve never run for office. But I love Westerville, and I care deeply about the kind of future we’re building here—for our kids, our seniors, and the small businesses that bring life to our community.
I’m stepping up because I’ve seen too many people feel left out or unheard. I want to change that. I believe in listening first, leading with common sense, and making sure Westerville stays safe, affordable, and family-friendly—not just for a few, but for all of us.
This campaign is about more than politics. It’s about neighbors working together to preserve what makes Westerville special—and plan for the future with wisdom and care.

5 Fun Facts About Daniela
1. I could eat French fries every day. Crispy, salty, dipped in just about anything—they’re my ultimate comfort food.
2. I speak two languages… but somehow still manage to mess up both. Whether it’s mixing metaphors or inventing new words mid-sentence, my brain just likes to keep things interesting.
3. I’m a true crime junkie. If it’s Forensic Files, Dateline, or anything involving mysterious clues—I’ve probably seen it. Twice.
4. I have an irrational fear of heights, spiders, and snakes. You’ll never catch me on a ladder—or in a room with something that crawls without warning.
5. I love summer, heat, and being warm. Give me sunshine, long days, and flip-flops over winter any day of the week.
